Cattail Marsh’s 900 acres of wetlands offer a variety of recreational activities. The new boardwalk and more than eight miles of gravel levee roads are great for hiking, biking, jogging, horseback riding, bird watching and wildlife photography along the banks of Hildebrandt Bayou and Willow Marsh Bayou. This wildlife refuge is home to a variety of aquatic mammals and is a birding paradise, nurturing more than 250 species of migratory and resident birds, including pelicans, egrets, roseate spoonbills, ducks, ibis, doves, and red-winged blackbirds.

Location: 4233 Babe Zaharias Drive, Beaumont, TX 77705

Directions: From I-10 South in Beaumont, turn left onto Walden Rd.; in .51 miles, Walden Rd becomes Tyrrell Park Rd. Go .3 miles to the wetlands at 5305 Tyrrell Park Rd.
