Mineola Nature Preserve
Description
A diverse range of activities – hiking, biking, paddling, horseback riding – make the 2,911-acre Mineola Nature Preserve a destination for families. Located on the Sabine River, the park attracts over 190 species of birds and numerous kinds of wildlife to its pristine wetlands environment. A walk along a railroad bed built in the 1880's and the presence of buffalo and longhorn cattle let you step back in history. The Mineola Bigfoot Paddling Trail borders the Preserve.

Location: 1860 County Road 2724, Mineola, Texas 75773
Directions: From I-20, turn North on U.S. 69, about 14 miles, cross the Sabine River and continue approximately 1.5 miles then turn right (east) on Loop 564. After turning east on Loop 564, about one fourth mile and just past equestrian turn off, turn right (southeast) on County Road 2724. (CR 2724 or Cap Ranch Road). Follow signs about 1.5 miles to entrance.
Admission: 7:30am-sunset; fees for some activities.
