Lake Livingston State ParkDescription 

Located just an hour north of Houston, Lake Livingston State Park offers a refreshing lakeside retreat from urban life. Several trails wind through the woodland park and along 2.5 miles of lake shoreline. The 1.8 miles of the longest trail, Trinity Trace, connects all the campsites and offers some of the best forest and wildlife viewing. The Pineywood Nature Trail Boardwalk takes the visitor through both wetlands and forest. Shorter trails access deep woods, shoreline, and ponds famous for their frog chorus. A pollinator demonstration project teaches youngsters the importance of planting native plants.

Amenities: Hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, mountain biking, camping; park store, boat rental, ranger-led programs, and loans of rods & reels and youth “explorer” backpacks.

Location: 300 Park Road 65, Livingston, TX 77351

Directions: The park is located one mile south of Livingston on U.S. Highway 59. Travel four miles west on FM 1988 and 0.5 miles north on FM 3126 to Park Road 65. The park is approximately 75 miles north of Houston.

Admission: $6 day use fee; children 12 and under free; Open Daily, 6am-10pm
