Moore Plantation Wildlife Management Area
Description
The Moore Plantation Wildlife Management Area's 26,772 acres are located in Sabine and Jasper Counties in Texas' Piney Woods Ecological Region. Texas. Moore Plantation WMA is managed under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Forest Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and adjacent land owners. Part of the Sabine National Forest, the WMA is mostly owned by the U.S. Forest Service, which is primarily responsible for timber management, threatened and endangered resources and controlled burning in the area. Several threatened and endangered species are present in the WMA, notably the endangered red cockaded woodpecker.
Amenities: hiking, hunting, fishing, primitive camping, bicycling, and horseback riding. No restrooms or drinking water available.

Directions: Moore Plantation WMA is located in Sabine and Jasper Counties 30 miles north of Jasper in eastern Texas. From Jasper take US 96 north 27 miles to Pineland. Take FM 1 then FM 2426 east 3 miles. An information station is located on the north side of the highway.
