Atlanta State Park
Description
Nearly five miles of trails make Atlanta State Park a place for families to get outdoors in the far northeast corner of Texas. Located on the shores of the 20,000-acre Wright Patman Lake, the park features towering pines and hardwood trees that shade the park, providing fall and spring color, and beauty year-round.
Amenities: hiking, camping fishing, boating, biking, swimming, picnicking, equipment rentals, park store, ranger programs.
Location: 927 Park Road 42, Atlanta, Texas
Directions: To reach the park, which is 11 miles northwest of Atlanta, exit from U.S. Highway 59 onto FM 96, and go west nine miles to FM 1154, then north two miles to Park Road 42 entrance. (FM 1154 dead-ends at the park.)
Admission: Open Daily 6am-10pm; Adult: $3 per day; Children 12 & Under: Free
