Dogwood Trail
Description
Winding through classic undisturbed Big Thicket habitat along Theuvenins Creek, the Dogwood Trail loops for a mile or more through a mature floodplain forest of beech, magnolia, maple and white oak. The area is known for a wide variety of flowering plants, including yellow trout lilies. The owner of the land around the trail, Hancock Forest Resource Group, has made it available as a public trail. Conservationists are working on acquiring it for permanent protection, due to the high quality of the habitat and its value as a public trail.
